The project’s general objective is to promote the EU green policies, directives, and rules through integrating them in curricula, to provide economic resilience for the economy’s actors on their transition process toward the sustainability.
As economies face increasing challenges from climate change, social inequality, and corporate governance failures, understanding the role of sustainable policies and ESG goals has become vital for future economists. The objective of the project is to enhance the students in the Faculty of Economy of the University of Tirana, understanding of sustainable policies and ESG goals, highlighting their importance in shaping the model of the future economy. This project will specifically explore the ESG criteria with financial system, risk management, business practices, and fiscal policies. By the end of the project, students will be able to critically analyse ESG policies and their implications on economic systems. They will also gain practical insights into how businesses and governments can align economic goals with sustainability, preparing them to become advocates for responsible economic policies in their future careers. Also, the project not only offers opportunities for professional development, but also helps students become conscientious individuals and engaged in solving global problems toward a resilient economic future.
To achieve the project’s goals, the project team will begin by enhancing the curricula of two study courses titled “Principles of Finance”, attended by the students of two study programs “Finance” and “Business Administration” and the organization of the annual “Spring School on Sustainability and Innovation – Shaping a Greener Future Through Education. The revision of curricula of the existing courses and the new learning materials for the Spring School will integrate EU policies and directives related to the Green Deal, SDGs, sustainable risk management, green financial instruments, ESGs, green insurance, and green taxation, as they impact individuals, businesses, and governments. This initiative will provide students with a thorough understanding of sustainability challenges and EU environmental policies, offering access to theoretical and scientific resources in sustainability education. It will also encourage students to consider bachelor thesis topics within this field. Furthermore, the program will serve as a valuable opportunity for HEI master’s programs focused on innovation and sustainable development, equipping students with the knowledge and skills essential for future careers in the green economy.
