Within the framework of the Jean Monnet Project “Transitioning to Teaching with Incorporated Education for Sustainable Development” (ToTinESD – 10123897), the Spring School on Sustainability and Innovation: “Shaping a Greener Future Through Education” was organized during the period 11.05.2026 – 22.05.2026, at the Faculty of Economy, University of Tirana. The activity engaged students enrolled in the bachelor study programmes at FEUT and focused on the broad theme of “Green Finance and Sustainable Development.” The Spring School addressed several contemporary issues related to sustainability, including climate change and environmental policies, waste management, the role of innovation and technology, catastrophic risk management, and the importance of youth and education in achieving sustainable development in the Western Balkans. The academic programme combined theoretical and practical approaches through case studies, practical applications, and gamification-based learning activities, providing students with an interactive and engaging educational experience.
As part of the programme, two open debate sessions were organized following the Carl Popper Debate format. The first debate, “Businesses Should Invest Towards Sustainability,” encouraged students to analyze the role of sustainability in strengthening competitiveness and reducing corporate risk. The second debate, “Focusing Youth Education on Sustainability,” emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability education as a core component of youth development and future-oriented learning. Students demonstrated a high level of preparation, commitment, and enthusiasm throughout the activity. Their active participation further highlighted the growing interest of young people in sustainability-related topics and their willingness to engage with emerging fields that are expected to have a significant impact on their professional and personal futures.
The Spring School concluded with the certificate distribution ceremony, held on June 1, 2026, at the premises of FEUT.
